Heated jacket battery life and care
A heated jacket is only as good as its battery. These habits keep the heat running for the whole day and the jacket working for many winters.
How long does the battery last?
Runtime depends on the heat level, the size of the pack and the temperature outside. On low, a 12V 18400mAh pack runs a jacket for most of a working day; on high, expect a few hours. Extreme cold slows any lithium battery, so keep the pack inside the jacket, close to your body.
- Start on high for ten minutes, then drop to medium or low
- Turn the heat off indoors; the insulation keeps you warm
- Carry a charged spare for all-day shifts
Charging and storage
Charge fully before the first wear and after each use. Use the supplied cable or a quality USB-C charger; weak chargers take much longer. Over summer, store the battery at about half charge in a cool, dry place and top it up every couple of months.
How to wash a heated jacket
- Unplug and remove the battery, then tuck the cable into its pocket
- Close all zips and turn the jacket inside out
- Hand wash, or use a gentle cold cycle inside a laundry bag
- Dry flat or hang to dry; never tumble dry, iron or dry clean
Make sure the cable connector is completely dry before reconnecting the battery.
